Emma was the second child and first daughter born to Michael A. ("Grumpa") and Elizabeth C. ("Lizzie") Eitelman. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1877, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas, with her family in 1888. Emma married Andrew Gilchrist in 1895, with whom she had two sons, Bruce, born in 1896, and Wallace, born in 1898.       Emma and Andrew, a stone contractor who was contracted to do the masonry work on St. Patrick's Cathedral in downtown Fort Worth, lived at 1812 College Avenue until Andrew's death from cancer in 1912 at age 53. Sometime prior to her mother Lizzie's death in 1920, Emma moved next door to 1816 College. She maintained her residence there in Fort Worth until shortly before her death in 1970, when her son Wallace arranged for her to move near him in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Prepared by:
